Background - I have followed the diet on and off since 2012. When I first started, I was close to 280 pounds. I have dropped as low as 218.0 pounds. I am a stress eater. Regardless of what I am eating, when I am stressed, food brings me comfort. I was dealing with fatigue, uncontrollable gout issues, not feeling my best, being overweight, and not getting any younger (I am current 52 years old). My friend group is dealing with the phase of life that involves taking care of our parents with numerous medical, and mental issues, like Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Parkinson’s disease. It has open my eyes to a new world, and something that I do not want to burden my kids with when they get to my age. So, I have been going to my doctor and having blood work done regularly, and I am determined to live differently. I was doing Keto like things through April, but on May 1st, I went all in.
Diet - My biggest Keto diet issue is getting enough fat. So, today I started tracking it with MyFitnessPal. I want to improve daily, and if anyone has any suggestions, please share. The goal is to get 165g of Fat, 40g of Carbs, and 75g of Protein.
Today, I hit 182g, 9g, and 76g respectively. I did not hit it the way I want to, but the main thing was I wanted to hit the numbers. I drank my bulletproof coffee, which generated 572s calories with 62g of fat. Then had dinner 3 Hickory Smoked Sausages and 2 hard boiled eggs, which generated 1400 calories which generated 120g of fat. Before you criticize, this was one day. Just trying to see how getting the right amount of fat helps my energy. Also, currently consuming LMNT, an Electrolyte Drink Mix, and Advocare Spark, a Vitamin & Amino Acid Supplement.
Exercise - Ran 2 miles this morning with 2 Navy Seal Burpees every 1/4 mile (16 total).
Results - On January 22nd, 2024 I weighed in at 267.6 pounds. Today, I weighed in at 226.0 pounds, a difference of 41.6 pounds.
